Jobs for young women: how to start a career and earn money without experience
Starting from scratch isn’t shameful, it’s normal. If you’re young, 18 or 20, with no experience, a half-page resume and a couple of lines about “responsible and communicative”—relax. You’re just getting started. The job market is truly changing. Employers are increasingly less likely to require twenty years of experience, and more often, they’re asking for energy, a decent appearance, basic discipline, and a willingness to learn quickly. And yes, it’s sometimes even easier for women to start out. There are industries where a woman’s presence, attention to detail, and communication skills are truly valuable, not just a “cute extra.”
Why is it easy for young women to start a career?
Firstly, flexibility. Young women adapt, learn, and change direction more easily. No one expects you to be a top manager already – they only expect you to be reasonable and willing to work.
Secondly, there are many entry-level positions with no experience requirements. Hostesses, administrators, modeling, entertainers, and assistants are real entry points into a career where you’ll receive on-the-job training.
And most importantly: youth is a resource. Appearance, freshness, energy, and the absence of any “I’ve been doing this for 20 years” quirks. Employers see this.
Where young girls can earn good money
Working abroad opens many doors for young women, but it’s important to understand the reality, not the fairy tales on TikTok. Here’s where women are actually earning money:
Financial sector: accountants, auditors, financial specialists (USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand)
This isn’t a “job without experience” anymore, but it’s worth mentioning because many women aspire to it. It requires 5+ years of experience, English, and a solid knowledge of the language. Salaries range from $1,000 to $5,000, with managing directors earning around $10,000.
Beauty and service: administrators, makeup artists, manicurists, hairdressers (Türkiye, Dubai, Poland)
In the summer, tourism demand soars, and women are snapped up like hot cakes: hostesses, waitresses, and entertainers. The base salary isn’t high, but tips are a big draw. In practice, it’s around $1,000/month, with entertainers earning $500–600.
Modeling (China, USA, France, Italy, Spain)
This is the most attractive option for young people. China is currently experiencing a huge demand: European looks are trending. But modeling requires careful consideration: some top agencies offer live-in work, while others are just ripping off newcomers. The pay is based on fees. Covers range from €300–€600, editorials up to €600, advertising up to €10,000, and modeling runs from €200–several thousand.
3D graphic designers
Yes, it’s a female profession too. If you have a portfolio, the language, and taste, the path is open to England, the USA, and Canada. Income: $1,000–$9,000+, and you can freelance from home.
Teachers of Russian, English, mathematics, technical sciences (USA, Canada).
Teachers abroad earn a decent salary: around $4,600 per month. If you have a strong teaching background and language skills, this is an excellent option.
Modeling is an ideal job for young girls
So many girls dream of modeling, and then—bam—they’re 164 cm tall. Everyone around them says, “Oh, it wasn’t meant to be,” “It’s not your size.” But the thing is, modeling isn’t just about the runway. There are scouts, bookers, agency managers. There’s a huge range of work that can be approached from a different perspective if modeling doesn’t work out.
A true story:
“I dreamed of being a model, but I’m 164 cm tall. Then I realized, ‘Okay, I won’t be a model, I’ll be a model scout.’ And I got so hooked on it that I enjoy it more than if I were walking the runway.”
So, there’s always a way in. But if you meet the criteria, prepare for reality:
-
- Snaps should be taken in a swimsuit. You can’t cheat with clothes on.
-
- Polaroids should be honest, without filters, without the “I’m accidentally perfect here” pose.
-
- Tattoos? Yes, but they depend on your work style.
-
- Acne, scars, uneven teeth – solutions are individual.
Modeling is a job, not a matter of charm and likes. And it’s a real opportunity for earning money, developing, and traveling, if you approach it correctly.
What you need to know before your first trip abroad
This is where newbies most often run into trouble, so we’ve prepared a checklist to ensure your first experience is a positive one:
-
- No trips without visas, insurance and contracts.
-
- There are really a lot of scammers, especially in Asia.
-
- Don’t sign a contract for 3-5 years.
-
- Normal agencies work for a year, two at most.
-
- Don’t go where you don’t want to.
-
- If you immediately dislike a country, your intuition is right.
-
- Check the agency’s reviews, and don’t hesitate to contact the models directly.
-
- The portfolio is yours.
-
- Agencies don’t offer many shoots. Test with photographers, negotiate, shoot TFP, and invest in quality.
-
- Work should be a pleasure, not a fear.
-
- China, India, Türkiye—these are different conditions. You need to know exactly where you’re flying to.
How the agency helps young girls
A good agency is half the battle, and sometimes the whole battle. It:
-
- prepares you for filming and castings;
-
- helps to assemble a portfolio;
-
- negotiates with foreign agencies to ensure safe work;
-
- selects contracts that really suit your type;
-
- explains which countries are best for your growth;
-
- provides support during the trip – from housing to everyday issues.
And most importantly, it protects you from scammers, from stupid contracts, and from situations where they try to cheat you out of money.
