Summer Job Options for Students

What is your ideal summer? For me, it is definitely not the one where you need to go to the country or stay in a hot and stuffy city. The best option is a vacation and work at sea with accommodation . This gives you the opportunity to not only have fun and interesting time in 2-3 months, but also earn a good amount. To choose the most popular destinations for students, I analyzed vacancies according to the following criteria:

• Basic requirements.
• Distribution of work/life balance.
• Financial capabilities.

Let's try to figure out what kind of summer work for students will give them the opportunity not only to earn money, but also to relax.

Animator

Probably the most popular and in-demand vacancy. I would like to say right away that working as an animator abroad is interesting, but you will have to really work. Do not think that you will wake up, swim in the sea, have a couple of classes with children and go hang out in a club . The presented employment is exhausting, requires dedication. Popular destinations where it is easiest to find a good place with an optimal ratio of conditions/salary are the main resorts (yes, this is working as an animator in Egypt or Turkey). What you need to know and understand about such vacancies:

• The presented activity is suitable for extroverts who like to spend time with children/people. If you quickly get irritated by noise, you need time to quickly adapt to the company, then it is better to consider another option, because the psyche will not withstand the load (believe me, I know many stories when girls and guys left in tears after a week of work).
• Be prepared for a really crazy schedule. In most cases, you will only have 1 day off and 6 working days with every minute scheduled.
• Free accommodation and food are a plus. This gives you the opportunity to save some of the money you earn. You shouldn't expect to earn much, but during the season many managed to save up for a new phone, laptop, and renting an apartment for six months.

Working as an animator in Turkey requires a really big commitment, creative thinking. You will need to regularly come up with an original program that would definitely appeal to visitors of all ages. You will also need to know the language at a free conversational level. Despite the heavy workload, many remain satisfied, because in addition to employment, the presented work involves getting to know the team, constant creativity and a lot of impressions.

Hotel employee

You can get a job at a hotel in different positions. Resorts are happy to take students from the CIS countries because of… drum roll… cheap labor and a lot of enthusiasm. So, what jobs can a student work in a resort hotel, besides animation:

Rescuer.

For $8-10 an hour, you will have to be on duty, monitoring the situation in the pool/sea. This kind of payment is not found everywhere. Many hotels simply pay a fixed rate. Lifeguards have strict requirements in terms of skills. A plus will be a swimming category, previous work experience. Priority is given to guys.

Administrator.

Students are often trusted with the vacancies of a pool, bar or beach administrator. Standard duties: issuing and cleaning umbrellas, towels; control of payment for sun loungers (if provided); issuing and carrying drinks ordered at the bar; monitoring the situation in the selected area and the behavior of vacationers. This type of work at sea is one of the most popular. Once you get used to the regime, you can even enjoy your work. You should not expect a large salary, but with free accommodation and food, the money should be enough for the set goal. Please note that this type of work requires attentiveness. If anything happens, lost towels, sun loungers will be not only on your conscience, but also on your budget.

Waiter and kitchen assistant.

You will need to serve and clean up food, possibly stand at the serving station, wash dishes, and keep the kitchen tidy. You may also be entrusted with preparing food. But I warn you right away that this kind of summer work for students is very hard. Shifts in the kitchen often exceed 12 hours.

Cleaning assistant.

By the way, such vacancies are quite rare, but they do exist. You can perform the duties of a hotel cleaner or an assistant, for example, sending things to the laundry, putting out cosmetic sets. You won’t be able to earn a lot, but sometimes you can get quite generous tips.

Administrator at an amusement park

Don't imagine that you will immediately become the person who will solve the problems of important visitors. The administrator at the amusement park carries out a lot of different tasks. The most popular work abroad for students in this field:

• Sale of tickets and tokens.
• Basic maintenance of simple amusement rides and slot machines.
• Selling cotton candy, juices and other treats.

They don't pay much for this kind of work, but they often give out bonuses at the end of the season. The only downside is the cost of a visa or documents for official employment. This often costs more than the overall salary.

Dancer/dancer

If you are good at moving, dancing or have a dance education, you can try to become part of a show ballet at a hotel or get a job dancing in a night club . If you do this through reliable representatives, you can not worry about your safety. It is a common practice to go dancing during the holiday season. Many of my dancer friends practice this. Features of working as a dancer abroad:

• Performances can be either in the evening or during the day. If you have an exclusively evening schedule, do not forget that rehearsals will be held during the day.
• Those who have experience in public speaking will be able to get a job without any problems. It is not necessary to be a master of sports.
• We offer several areas of work: participation in a group show program; performance alone or in a pair in a certain direction (for example, Latin or belly dancing); pole dance; PJ.

This summer job for students will appeal to those who do what they love – dancing. It is a difficult but interesting job. If this is your hobby that brings pleasure and joy – agree without hesitation.

Cruise Ship Jobs

A summer job option that is becoming increasingly popular today. Essentially, you sign a contract for the entire summer and set sail. A cruise ship is a full-fledged city that sails along a specific route. The liner stops at ports, and landfall is permitted. You can visit various places, see a lot of beauty, if … the shift is not yours. On a cruise ship, you can find a vacancy that is similar to those offered by resort hotels, restaurants, amusement parks, casinos. There are a lot of options, but there is also a lot of work. One of the main advantages is good earnings. The disadvantage is a busy schedule, many shifts, because of which it is often not possible to disembark on land.

Working in a night club

I won't hide it, this is my favorite section of my story, because I once chose this option and didn't regret it. You can get a lot of positions in a night club: from a waiter (not my option right away) to a consummation (a girl who gets paid just for talking). I decided to choose consummation because my goal was to relax. I wasn't going to work until I lost my pulse, because I was going to the sea specifically to relax. The earnings were not just a pleasant addition, but helped solve all my financial issues for the next year (and this is not a joke). Facts for those who have never tried themselves in this activity:

• Rudeness, insults.
• Indecent proposals.
• Any touches, hugs.
• Hints of intimate relationships.
• Providing personal information (contacts, social networks).
• Leaving a place of work (club, restaurant) with a man.
• Take drugs, drink alcohol (some establishments simply set a limit of 1-2 glasses).

If the establishment is located outside the hotel, then after the work shift the manager together with the security will take you home. If you interest a man, then he will definitely return to the establishment, which will be a bonus for both you and the club. Cooperation also includes free accommodation and meals. Shifts can be adjusted to suit you. The main advantage is that during the day you are free. You can sleep, sunbathe, lie by the pool, and in the evening go have fun. If you take the weekend, then you can safely go on excursions, shopping (budget allows). Consummation is an alternative for a group of girls, for example, for girlfriends. Believe me, you will definitely have a good time.

Why is it better to cooperate with an agency?

Is it possible to do such activities independently? Yes, but there are many “buts”.

• Firstly, working with a proven (!) agency is a guarantee of your safety and a stable high income.
• Secondly, you won’t have to deal with issues such as finding accommodation, food, and transfer from the establishment to the hotel.
• Thirdly, the agency acts as your representative (everything is similar to how it works in modeling agencies). You will only need to comply
  requirements agreed upon in advance.
• Fourthly, protecting your interests. Cooperation gives you the opportunity to leave a man who shows too much interest (hints at intimacy, is rude or insults).

Who would this kind of work suit? First of all, those who like to have fun, enjoy themselves and communicate with people. One season is enough to earn good money, see the country, and relax. Today, you can go not only to the usual Greece or Turkey , but also to Dubai , Asian countries, and the USA . Plus, you can attend a variety of parties. Naturally, the choice is yours. Fortunately, there are plenty of options now. But I always wanted to achieve the optimal balance between employment and rest, and so I found an option that exactly matches my request.
